The Benefits of Backward Walking and Running
surprisingly - doesn’t sound bananas to me at all! i have been running for almost 10 years and was told that it’s supposed to help reduce shinsplints as it stretches the muscles in your legs differently than what is typical when you run or do your pre/post run stretching (although there are other things to do as well). i also have very low arches which gives me a tendency toward knee pain (tendinitis) and this seems to help. i will usually do a minute or two walking backward on the treadmill after i run but don’t seem to need it as much after an outdoor run. This sounds bananas.
Any thoughts?
